How to sell more PPV on Fanvue (without spamming your fans)

Most pay-to-view messages fail for the same reason: they ask for money before the fan cares. Here is what actually gets PPVs opened, and how to set it up on Fanvue.

Why your PPVs get ignored

  • Everyone gets the same message at the same time, so it reads like an ad.
  • The first thing the fan sees is a price, before any reason to pay it.
  • There is no next step: the fan pays once, or not at all, and the conversation ends.
  • Quiet fans and new subscribers rarely get a one-on-one message, because chat teams rightly focus on fans who already spend.

Start with a free, easy yes

Ask a question the fan can answer in one tap, for free: “Red dress or black dress? Reply 1 or 2.” A fan who answers is already involved. The next message can be paid, because now he chose it.

Turn one PPV into a short story

Instead of one big PPV, split it into scenes: a free opening, a cheaper middle scene, and a better-priced ending. Each choice leads to the next scene, so a fan who unlocked once has a reason to unlock again.

Example (not a promise): a $5 middle scene and a $12 ending means a fan who finishes the story spends $17, from one conversation.

Price each scene on purpose

  • Keep the first paid scene low: it is the hardest unlock.
  • Put your best content at the ending, priced higher.
  • Fanvue's minimum paid message is $3, so plan scenes at $3 or more.
  • Look at where fans stop. If most fans stop at one scene, change that photo or that price first.

Follow up once, not ten times

If a fan goes quiet, one or two gentle reminders are enough. Then let the story end. Fans who feel chased unsubscribe, fans who feel invited come back.

Do it automatically with Cliffly

Cliffly is a Fanvue app that sends these stories for you, one fan at a time, in the normal Fanvue chat. It understands answers like “2” or “the red one”, sends the next scene as a Fanvue paid message, follows up the way you choose, and shows you the scene where fans stop.

Questions

What is a PPV on Fanvue?

A pay-to-view message: a chat message whose photo or video stays blurred until the fan pays the price set by the creator.

How often should I send PPVs?

Less often, but better. One story a week that fans actually play beats daily mass PPVs they ignore. Cliffly can schedule one every week.

What should my first PPV cost?

Keep the first paid step low: it is the one that turns a reader into a buyer. Save higher prices for the ending.
